I come from a family of people who drink coffee and tea in equal measures, the choice between them dependent on mood, time of day, health status, and available preparation time. For the most part, we drink coffee in the morning, and into the afternoon, but switch to tea after dinner.

In summer, we add both iced coffee and iced tea to the mix.

Knowing that, you might think that this is a blog devoted to coffee and tea drinking. In a way it is, but it’s also a work of semi-autobiographical fiction, using both printed text and podcasts.

In a way, it’s also a love letter to a man who spent twenty years waiting for me to figure out that father-figures weren’t all fickle bastards.

The names, places, and some events are fictional.
The emotions are real.
